Two hundred and fifty years ago, a man named Dr. Joseph Warren gave everything for the cause of American liberty. A Harvard-educated physician, revolutionary leader, and hero of the Battle of Bunker Hill, Warren’s courage and sacrifice helped ignite the struggle for independence that gave birth to our nation.

 

Today, his story remains one of the most inspiring-yet least known-chapters in American history. The Dr. Joseph Warren Foundation, a volunteer-led organization, is dedicated to changing that. Our mission is to honor and celebrate Warren’s legacy through education, public outreach, and now the creation of a sweeping documentary film that will finally bring his story to the forefront of our shared national memory.

 

You may ask: why support this cause when there are so many others worthy of help?

Because without Dr. Joseph Warren, there may have been no United States of America.

It was Warren’s leadership and resistance activities that led directly to the Battles of Lexington and Concord and Bunker Hill—the very sparks that ignited the American Revolution.

 

At Bunker Hill, though appointed a Major General, Warren chose to fight as a volunteer soldier on the front lines. When his men began to retreat, he stayed behind, defending them until he was killed in action. He died so that his country might live. A widower, he left behind four orphaned children, ages two to ten.

 

Today, we ask you to honor his sacrifice by helping us preserve and share his legacy with future generations.
